One-owner original model Coda Roberson home in Santa Fe Village is red-ripe for the plucking! The 26′ x 13′ living room with soaring cathedral ceilings and wood-burning stove does not disappoint. Nor does the spacious walk-in closet in the master bedroom. This delightful brick home is as immaculate as it is move-in-ready. It was completely re-plumbed with copper piping, and boasts newer carpets and some fresh paint. The seller even wanted to include the fridge, washer and dryer to make it turn-key. The backyard is a lush green-grass oasis, and then you always have the Santa Fe Village Park and Taylor Ranch Library just five houses down…and the Petroglyphs a mere stone’s throw away.
A jogger trots along the River Loop Trail shielded by the shade of shimmering cottonwoods. A peloton blasts down a paved road along the Rio Grande, decked out in day glow spandex. An older lady sits at a bench on the riverbanks, meditating on the lazily moving river. A classroom of hyperactive eight-year-olds run through the fascinating exhibits at the Visitor Center, amazingly absorbing a good 30-33% of what is being explained at every station. These are some of the many scenes you will encounter at the
If meditating on a slow-moving group of turtles (also known as a “bale”) isn’t your speed there are many other active ways at the Nature Center to enjoy the Rio Grande. The Riverwalk Trail and Bosque Loop Trail provide one-mile and 0.8 mile hikes, respectively through open meadows, heavily wooded areas and along the river. The paved road along the Rio Grande provides the perfect bicycle superhighway for those who want to go real fast.
Located on a residential street in the North East Heights & close to all the best restaurants & businesses, this delightful home shows that it has been loved the moment you drive up to the curb and take in the nice, low maintenance front landscaping. Open the front wooden door & follow the parquet flooring to newly stained concrete floors in the living room & kitchen, & then bamboo floors in 2 of the bedrooms (not a stitch of carpet!). What you see from the outside is NOT what you get: once inside you will notice high ceilings letting in plenty of natural light & three incredibly spacious bedrooms. The living room is the pride and joy of the casa, also spacious with custom wood-burning fireplace. Function rounds out form with double-paned vinyl windows & an included washer, dryer, fridge.
The most educational and culturally rich area in all of Albuquerque is densely concentrated in a three-block universe in historic Old Town. Museum Row lines up the most powerful think-tanks, one right after the other:
stationed at each one of the key stations. In the atrium a retired physicist was situated in front of the massive dinosaur skeletons, cheerfully explaining the lineage and evolutionary process of the gargantuan reptiles. Thanks to the docents, you don’t have to read all the placards (thank God!), and because of the insight of one docent, I learned that the modern lungfish is a key evolutionary animal that still exists today.
Without creating too much of a sense of urgency, it is crucial that everyone visit the temporary exhibit “The Genius, Leonardo Da Vinci” immediately and before it moves to its next location after July 29, 2018. This scintillating exhibition consists of two parts. The first focuses on his paintings, and of course the world’s most famous one “la Giocanda,” the laughing one, or Mona Lisa. In it you will find copious explanations of that famous elusive smile, the shadowy quality of the work and of course, its historic context. There’s even a replica of the back of the painting (spoiler alert…it’s made of wood!)!
inventions, all brought to life by modern day artisans from his detailed journals. You will find everything from real-life concepts of a car to a military tank. What sets this delightful exhibit from any other one I’ve experienced that it is almost all hands-on! Nothing is more joyful than watching a young boy pull a lever that forces a hammer to slam down on an anvil, or watch a young girl be surprised by pulling a lever that moves a gear, that operates another gear, and so on and so on…, all of which were originally designed by a brilliant mind who lived some 500 years ago.

Located in an established NE Heights neighborhood, close to Coronado and Uptown Malls, this ranch style home has been expertly maintained by the owners. In 2012 the windows were replaced with double paned windows and there is ceramic tile in the high traffic areas. The converted garage can serve as an office, craft room or 4th bedroom without losing the large living areas. The back den enjoys a wood burning fireplace before stepping out into the backyard. And oh what a backyard! With grass and with sprinklers feeding the bottom area, there’s even a storage shed to house your landscaping tools!

But perhaps the key to Ciudad Vista’s draw is in the name itself. In Spanish “ciudad vista” means “city view,” which is only part of the story. In addition to beautiful views of the twinkling city lights from many of Ciudad Vista’s homes, the area also attracts residents because of its mountain views, hiking paths and overall walkability.
homes has a Southwest flair without being cookie-cutter. Most of the homes are single-story, and the architectural repertoire consists of Pueblo Style, Territorial Style, Northern New Mexico and then Brick Ranch.

Located in Netherwood Park in UNM North this custom Arthur Dekker home exudes clean, modern lines and maximum comfort. The front door reveals brick floors that have been laid throughout in a stylistic, herring bone pattern. He was a huge proponent of the open concept & this home does not disappoint. The sleek kitchen with stainless steel appliances and ultra-long granite countertop serves as the social fulcrum with the living room and formal dining room. Rectangular forms were his favorite design concept, echoed in the beamed ceiling, clerestory windows and skylights, letting in abundant natural light. Function also abounds in the home with a newer roof, cooler and updated bathrooms, a heated 4-car tandem garage & lots of storage. It’s no surprise that Arthur Dekker lived in his own masterpiece!
